OSAP provides Ontario students with financial aid to help pay for education-related expenses such as tuition, books, compulsory fees, transportation, and living costs.
OSAP is available to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants who are residents of Ontario. Unfortunately, visa students are not eligible. (However, out-of-province and out-of-country student loan programs may provide similar assistance.)
The Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) office administers these programs on behalf of the government.
You should apply for OSAP as soon as the application is available online (usually in late May). It generally takes 4-6 weeks for OSAP applications to be processed.
For more information, please visit the OSAP page on the Student Financial Aid and Scholarships office website.
