Full-Time MBA, Full-Time MBA with Co-op and Accelerated MBA Programs

Connecting with your cohort is a great way to begin your journey and become part of the DeGroote community. The steps below apply to students in the Full-Time MBA, Full-Time MBA with Co-op, and Accelerated MBA programs.

Microsoft Teams is where you’ll connect with your fellow incoming MBA students, MBA Student Ambassadors, and DeGroote support staff. It’s your go-to space for asking questions, joining discussions, and staying up to date on key information and events.

Each channel in the Teams group covers a different topic—feel free to post or respond to questions relevant to each area. All channels are monitored to ensure you get the support you need.

How to Join:

  • You’ll receive an email invitation to join as a Guest User.
  • If you don’t have a Microsoft account linked to the email you’re using, you’ll be prompted to create one. Follow these steps.
  • If you already have an account, use these instructions.

Troubleshooting:

  • If you haven’t received your invitation, contact your Onboarding Officer, Chandani Sheth.
  • Important: If you’re using a university-based email address, you won’t receive an invite. Instead, follow these instructions.

Once you’ve joined the Microsoft Teams group, head to the Introductions channel. There, you’ll find a welcome message and a few introductory questions from your Onboarding Officer.

Take a moment to answer the questions and share a bit about yourself—this is your chance to help others get to know you and start forming connections with your cohort.

Be sure to read through the posts from your fellow incoming MBA students and engage with their responses as well. A simple like or reply can go a long way in building a strong, supportive community before the program even begins.

Let your classmates get to know you by sharing a short video from wherever you are in the world!

Record a quick video of yourself in your current country and show or talk about something unique or meaningful to you. It could be:

  • A famous landmark
  • Your favourite local dish
  • A special place you like to visit
  • A fun cultural tradition
  • Anything else that gives a glimpse into your life

Once recorded, upload your video to the DeGroote Around the World channel on the Microsoft Teams group.

Take time to watch your classmates’ videos too—it’s a great way to start building friendships and celebrating the diverse experiences that each of you brings to the DeGroote community.

Stay connected and engaged with your cohort by registering for events through the Events channel on Microsoft Teams. This is where you’ll find all upcoming webinars, social events, and information sessions designed to help you prepare for the program and connect with fellow students.

In addition, you can catch up on anything you may have missed:

  • Past Webinars: Watch recordings of previous sessions to stay informed and gain valuable insights.
  • Past Newsletters: Read previous newsletters in the General channel for important updates and helpful tips.

Participating in these events and reviewing past content is a great way to stay informed, get involved, and start building connections before the program officially begins.

Blended Learning Part-Time MBA Program

Building relationships early will help you expand your network, share experiences, and support one another throughout the MBA program. The following applies to Blended Learning Part-Time (BLPT) MBA students.

Join your classmates on LinkedIn at DeGroote Blended Learning Part-Time MBA Class of 2029

Post a short video of yourself answering the following questions:

  • What made you decide to do an MBA program?
  • What is your dream job (or career goal)?
  • What do you like to do in your spare time (not working or education related)?

Read answers from your fellow incoming MBA students and feel free to engage with them by asking follow-up questions or commenting on things that you find interesting.
