What made you pursue an MBA: I wanted to branch out of my focused marketing background from Undergrad. I also wanted to gain job experience while pursuing my masters.
Why did you choose DeGroote: Doing my undergrad at McMaster showed me how much community matters at the school, so doing my MBA at Mac would be an easy transition where I knew how welcoming the school is. The Co-op program specifically also allowed me to get the work experience I’ve been wanting while getting a higher education.
What has been your favourite part about the MBA: Getting to meet everyone and learning about their backgrounds!
What is one quick tip you have for a first-year MBA student: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Your peers, TAs and Profs all want you to succeed.
What has been your favourite course at DeGroote, and why: BUSADMIN C610: Health and Society. Whether or not you come from a healthcare background, the course was extremely interesting and is beneficial to everyone!
What I wish I knew on Day 1: Everyone is just as nervous as you, don’t be shy to say hi to everyone you see and strike up a conversation!
What is one of your favourite weekend activities: Hiking (when the weather is nice)
