Reason for pursuing an MBA: For me, it wasn’t just about getting another degree — it was about growth, perspective, and finding a sense of belonging in a community that challenges and inspires me.  There are only a few moments in life when you feel deeply touched on a human level, and my MBA journey has been one of those moments. In just a short time, I’ve experienced learning that goes beyond books and lectures — it’s experiential, humbling, and filled with connections that remind me why I chose this path. I wanted to pursue an MBA because I didn’t just want knowledge, I wanted transformation — the chance to learn, to be pushed out of my comfort zone, and to grow alongside people who make the experience feel like family.

Why DeGroote was chosen: I chose the DeGroote MBA Program because it felt like more than just a business school, it felt like a community. Having a family member who is an alum gave me a window into what DeGroote truly offers: not only strong academics, but also a culture of collaboration, support, and experiential learning that shapes you far beyond the classroom. I wanted an MBA that wasn’t only about textbooks and theory, but about real-world application, personal growth, and being part of something bigger. DeGroote stood out because it gives you the chance to learn by doing, to connect deeply with people, and to grow both as a professional and as a person. For me, the decision was clear: DeGroote wasn’t just the right program, it was the right place to belong.

Favorite MBA experience: My favorite part of the MBA experience so far has been the people and the opportunities to grow through real experiences. I was lucky to find not just classmates, but two of my best friends here — and that sense of connection has made this journey truly special. At the same time, my internship with the Experiential Learning Team has been incredibly rewarding, giving me a chance to apply what I’m learning in real time. I’ve also been fortunate to learn from inspiring leaders like Dr. Milena Head and Candice Chow, whose guidance has shaped how I think about business and leadership.  Together, these friendships, experiences, and mentors have made my MBA journey about so much more than academics — it’s been about growth, belonging, and impact.

Tip for first-year students: Take it slow. It might feel overwhelming at first, but in less than 365 days it all starts to make sense. The experience matures like fine wine — and it flies by so quickly that you’ll find yourself wishing time could slow down.
