Course Description

O718 - Selected Topics

Procurement related costs can be a significant part of a finished good or service. For example, they can account for up to 80% of manufacturing costs. These costs are likely to be even more significant with the increasing dependence on outsourcing: About 50% of manufacturing contracts in North America are outsourced and outsourcing costs can account for up to 80% of IT finished products. In this course students will be introduced to tools and knowledge that will allow them to develop strategies and models to effectively manage procurement operations.

Relevant procurement components of SAP’s enterprise resource planning system will be demonstrated. (This is a special topics course.)

  • Prerequisite: O600 or O650
